Glass Skin Look// Drugstore Products Edition

Most requested post finally here!

The makeup and skin care trends of 2020 clearly moving from all matte and chiseled contoured towards more natural, glowly healthy looking, blended youthful looks.

For some its a trend, for me it always has been a favorite and more of a personal style look that I have always enjoyed and feel comfortable with. In this post I will share with you what products I used to achieve the look. One more bonus – it is all drug store, very affordable products and under $10!

Prep the skin

First things first, you need to make sure you cleanse and prep your skin with skincare products that work for your skin type. Your skin needs to be well moisturized. Then, Step 1 is to prep your skin with primer. In my case, I used 2 different ones.

E.L.F Poreless Putty Primer. – for T -zone to fill in the pores.

Ulta matte face primer. – to prime the rest of the face. You do not need to use 2 primers like I did for this look. But you always can, if you feel like you need a better base.

My T-zone has visible pores and gets oily, while the perimeter of my face is normal type. At times, I do use 2 different product for those reasons.

Covering the Bases

Next step is to apply base products to create a flawless “canvas”. The application technique is important. You want to build up thin layers over each other and blend well every one of them till it looks smooth and finished. Most products listed below are my go-to ones that I keep in my daily makeup drawer. To me, they are must haves in any basic drugstore makeup starter kit. They just don’t fail. All are easy to apply, blend beautifully and do not accentuate skin texture if you have it.

Physician’s Formula The Healthy Foundation SPF 20. This has been my favorite foundation since I tried it the very first time. This product works for all skin types and has the most beautiful natural healthy finish, also giving a good coverage. Read full post here.

And again, at this point I have used 2 separate concealers for different areas of the face.

E.L.F. 16H Camo Concealer. I used this one to highlight under eye area. This concealer is just so good for highlighting and covering darker circles. It is a thicker formula and (I heard from few people) if you have very dry under eye area – either prep it with heavier eye cream and serum or choose the concealer that is more moisturizing. I have normal skin around eyes and this concealer works very well.

CoverGirl TruBlend Undercover Concealer. This second one is to spot conceal. Choose the color that matches your actual skin tone.

Essence Brighten Up! Banana.Powder. In 98% of times I set my face with powders. This product is so underrated and not talked about enough. Beautiful powder that is brightening and NON drying. I use the sponge to set the T-zone.

Physicians Formula The Healthy Powder SPF 16. I love this powder in general. I think I really need to stop talking about it because I feel like I mention it all the time. Because it is really that damn good. Anyway, I use this powder to set the rest of the face. One nice bonus is this powder is pigmented – it adds a little coverage.

Side NOTE: like I mentioned earlier, the base products need to be applied in thin layers and blended well. I use a combination of face brushes and a blending sponge to make sure everything looks like second skin. When applying powder go very light handed, otherwise things will cake up with this amount of product.

Milani Silky Matte Bronzing Powder. Finish up with very light touch of bronzer using big bronzing or powder brush.

Final Touches

Essence Satin Touch Blush.

Makeup Revolution Highlighter Reloaded. In shade” Just my type”. This step is very important – this is the moment when your skin will get really GLASSY.

I am using large highlighting fan brush and smaller fan brush to strategically apply the product in the smaller areas like nose, cupids bow, eyebrow bone and nose.

Setting spray is optional. If you feel like the skin looks powdery then use one that has natural or glowy finish. For my combination skin I cannot use glowy setting products – my skin gets oily within an hour. For this purpose I use the facial spray that tames the powderness.

The final touch ups – L. A Girl Brow Pomade + Makeup Revolution Precise Brow Pencil to finish up the brows. For this type of looks try to keep the brows as naturally looking as possible. For me it is not the easiest thing to do, because my eyebrows are microbladed. Mother Nature didn’t bless me with beautiful natural brows. But that’s ok. I can draw them back with makeup products. Haha.

If you do have nice full brows, you may want to opt in for tinted eyebrow gel to achieve the most natural but neat look. One of my favorites is here.

The Eyes and Lips

This is also very optional. You may ask – how do you put eye shadows without it looking made up and go with the glow ?

This eyeshadow palette is a hidden gem in the box. Using fluffy blending eyeshadow brush use any shimmer shade you like and blend it all over the lids. Use the lighters shimmer shade for inner corner of the eye to highlight even more.

Finished look

This look Is definitely asking for the glossy juicy lips. Here is my recent favorite that I use on daily basis. This is the product that I believe was launched this past year and it is so bomb!

Hello my beauty lovers! In today’s post I’m talking about the small but very cute little 6 pan eyeshadow palette Olori 3 by Juvia’s place. I have quite few eyeshadow palettes from the brand and nicely familiar with the formula. What really drew me in was the color story- the neutral row with very unexpected…
