I have tried Mario Badescu Anti -Aging Skin Regimen, So you don’t have to.

Hello my beauty Lovers!

I haven’t posted anything in this category in the month of July because I was testing the products that I’m going to talk about today. I have been trying the skin care regimen from Mario Badescu. And I wanted to give an accurate review by using it consistently for several weeks until I saw certain results and consistency.

So, I have used the whole entire regimen for 2 weeks and this is what happened.

What’s in it for you ?

This mini size skin care set from Mario Badescu offers you to try and test their best products that target signs of skin aging. The kit includes: Glycolic face wash and toner, collagen moisturizer, glycolic eye cream and collagen face mask.

What’s the best way to test a line of products than in a curated kit like this one? So, that’s what I did. I have tried and tested this kin care complex for 2 weeks and I am about to spill all the details to you just about right now. Continue reading.

The Benefits

This skin care regimen carries main two well -known ingredients like collagen and glycolic acid. These 2 ingredients are known to be very beneficial for aging skin and also first sings of aging. Glycolic acid helps retexturing the skin, while chemically exfoliating and brightening .

I am not new to chemical peels or acids in the skin care. My skin has been trained to these type of ingredients since I have turned 30. I started introducing the stronger ingredients due to my skin needs, and at this point my skin tolerates acids pretty well.

Let me tell you how every single one of these product worked out for my skin, or didn’t. Before I do that, let me fully introduce my skin to you – I have a combination oily skin type, with first signs of aging like smile lines around my mouth and eyes, minor texture sings and enlarged pores in the T-zone. I have never really struggles with acne, but in that time of a month I do get uneven skin tone and break- outs here and there. This is so far what I got to work with.

Like I mentioned earlier, I have tried Glycolic acid products in the past, and was very pleased with the results. I really wanted to test the whole entire curated line all together to see : 1- if it is really going to make a different using the whole entire line of products; 2- is the quality of the brand’s best rated products really that good.

I will try to be brief and to the point, because there’s a lot to cover.

Let’s start with the Toner. It is a very strong toner that in a span of a few days dried out my skin to very uncomfortable condition. It definitely help with clearing out some minor breakouts that I had at that moment, and shrinking pores, however, I couldn’t pass the fact how dry my skin felt.

The Face Wash was nice and leathered easily. It definitely felt like my skin was squicky clean after I washed it off my face. If you are not yet familiar , I’ll tell ya that ” squicky clean” is not good for your skin. Period. I am not really sure what the % of acid is in this face wash, it is very irritating to the eyes as well. Guess how I know that?

I will jump ahead here and tell you that my skin started purging after about a week. If you are not familiar with what ” purging skin” is, please do a research. It is very important to understand the difference when your skin is breaking out or it is purging. That way you know when to stop using the product that does your skin no good.

It is really needless to say, that I stopped the whole ” face wash + toner” routine at about 2 weeks mark, I couldn’t do this to myself, and there was no need to continue torturing my face since the results were already understood after much shorter time.

Ok guys, this post is not going to be all sappy and sad, I promise. Let me tell you about 3 other products that were actually quite decent quality.

The Glycolic Eye Cream came in a very tiny sample size. I actually enjoyed using it. However, few things to mention here: it is really not necessary to use acids around your eyes when you are younger, there is really no need. It is more meant for people with more mature skin. Secondly, acids are irritating to eyes, the cream needs to be applied in the small amounts under the eyes not on the upper lids. Also preferably, only use at night time, because acids make your skin more sensitive to light. If you do use products with active ingredient in the day time, make sure you are loading up on that sunscreen and hide from the sun, in general. And remember, when you wash your face in the morning, keep your eyes shut, because some of that product can still get into your eyes and be very irritating.

The Collagen Moisturizer was fine. I didn’t really notice any major difference in my skin. I have used the entire bottle. It has light, non – greasy, and thin formula. It is also quite interesting that it almost felt powdery after application. One of those Cream -to- powder formulas. I only used this cream in the night time, that being said, no facts on how if did under the makeup.

The Collagen Mask was my favorite product out of the whole kit. It had a light medicinal scent to it, which I didn’t mind – it didn’t irritate my skin. Small amount goes a long way and my skin felt really refreshed, toned-down and soft. I would even consider repurchasing it in a larger size. There is one BUT. The mask is very sensitive to air- it starting drying out after about 2 uses. Keep in mind that it was also a mini size that came in the set. I got 4 uses out of it, but I had to do it pretty much every other day so it wouldn’t fully dry out and go to waste.

That being said, i would recommend it because I like date effect on my skin, but it has to be used quickly and mindfully of closing that lid back quick.
