As the Holiday season crawling upon us pretty quickly, and the gift lists for the friends, family or even your lovely self keeps growing. Stores and beauty companies are amping up their games with delivering best selling and top rated products in a festive packing to cater to any taste.
In this post I am going to chat about the Sephora Favorites lip wardrobe set “Give Me More Lip”.
Out of many products sets available in Sephora, my eyes fell on this set pretty quickly because I LOVE all lip products in general – lipsticks, glosses, balms, scrubs, and what not. During colder months my lips tend to become very dry and crusty. This is the time of the year when I usually review and renew my lip care product stash.
Now let’s take a look at this super cute lippy set.
What’s in the box?
There are 8 lip products in this set. There are two parts to this box: left one has lip care products; right one has color lipsticks.
All the brands that are included are very well known and the lippies that are in this set are considered their best selling products.
At first it looks like it is one box. But it is more clever than you may think. There are 2 boxes connected together that can be easily separated and gifted for the Hollidays as stocking stuffers. The products are inserted in the super cute glittery rose gold plastic forms that match the color of the outside box. How adorable, right?
As for the lip products, they are the same quality packaging as the original sized ones but in the deluxe sizes except for 2 (Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick and Inc.readible Rollerbaby The Original Rollerball Gloss).
Is it worth it ?
Now down to the main question. If you consider getting it for yourself , think of things like – do you like all the products that are in the box (colors, finishes, textures) and how will you use them? My reasoning to buying this set was that I LOVE lip things in general and wanted to sample best selling products of the included brands (some of them I have tried prior, and I also used my Sephora VIB % to get the whole set for the better $$). And of course, if you are thinking to gift it to someone, to my opinion, it makes a cute and very girly little gift.
If you think of the fact that there are 2 full sized products in this set, and Charlotte Tilbury lipstick is $34 on it own, then it is pretty clear that the value is there.
Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in shade Very Victoria.
This is a matte, sheer but buildable formula. I personaly like it. Even though it is matte, it is not drying on lips. This shade is perfect for everyday wear. I am saying that as an all neutrals lover.
This is the product that I wanted to try and I was pleased with overall quality. It is very light but full-on color formula. I wore it during the day and it lasted through my coffee and small snack -I am currently on Keto diet and most foods that I eat contain fat – after all most of the lipstick stayed! The packaging of the full size product is slim as well as the lip stick itself. For a higher end brand is it very reasonable priced. I definitely will be looking to try more colors out of this line.
Too Faced Peach Kiss Lipstick Moisture Matte Long Wear Lipstick in Sex on the Peach.
I have tried this lipstick before and I love it. This is a hydrating matte formula and fully pigmented. It is not drying and very comfortable on lips. It is infused with peach and sweet fig milk, i.e it is a subtly scented and smells like peached. Yum! The size included in the set is quite small (1g), but will give you a good idea what the product is like. The full side retails for $21 on Sephora and has a good variety of shades available.
First time trying this lip stain and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It is very light formula, goes on smoothy and very pigmented. After all, it is a stain and once you remove the color it does leave some staining on your lips which I personally don’t mind. I am curious to try a more neutral color from this line.
This lip treatment comes in a variety of shades. The Rose shade is very subtle and sheer which is what you might want from a tinted lip ( at least this is my personal preference). It is not scented. It contains sugar to prevent moisture loss and oil blend to provide deep moisture, also SPF 15. It is priced on a higher end for a full size. It is very comfortable and lovely product, I’ll enjoy it while it lasts.
Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask in Original.
This product has been raved about this whole year. Now it comes in several scented variations but pink one was launched first. I have tried this lip mask before. It is very light and moisturizing. A little goes a long way. One thing I wanted to point out – if you use it during the day as a lip balm/ moisturizer it disappears from your lips in minutes and frankly doesn’t have the great taste. BUT that’s why it makes perfect scent that it IS a SLEEPING MASK. You are supposed to apply it on your lips right before going to sleep ( we don’t talk or eat while we sleep, our lips are closed the whole entire time) so the product stays and works its magic.
The 2 products didn’t hit the mark for me.
Milk Makeup Kush Lip Balm in Green Dragon.
Even though it has very good hydrating ingredient (hemp -derived cannabis sativa seed oil, shear butter, moringa butter) – they do an amazing job making the lips super moisturized for a long period of time, there are few ingredients in this lip balm that are not my personal favorites and I try to avoid them when I look for lip care products – peppermint and sage. After few minutes of application my lips were burning , so I ended up removing it. This balm is available in fruity versions, however I am not sure if they also contain peppermint. It they don’t, I would definitely like to try it. The retail price at Sephora is $16 for a full size.
Inc.readible Rollebaby The Original Rollerball Gloss in Choose Your Happy.
Guys, I was quite disappointed with this product. I have used the rollerball glosses before many times, this one didn’t bring its game up at all, as much as I wanted it to. I have one lip balm product in my current lip care stash from this brand that I ABSOLUTELY LOVE and I somehow thought this gloss would be great too.
This is a full size product. It is tinted in the tube but applies clear. It is cruelty free and vegan. The brand promises that the gloss gives the extreme wet look. Well, it actually didn’t, also there is not enough product that came out as I tried to roll it on my lips. So strange. Most glosses in this type of packaging actually have the opposite issue. It almost started annoying me how many times I had to roll it over and over to get enough product out.
The biggest concern of mine and also a big no-no started when I looked inside the tube after the first application and saw what you see on the picture below – the cloud! This is basically the residue that came from my lips (like naturals oils, daily pollution build up, etc. – side note: neither did I eat right before applying this gloss, not I had any other products on my lips prior to this one). I understand this is my own skin and no-one else will be ever using this gloss but me, BUT .. after taking multiple classes of MicroBiology in my career path, there is such a thing like bacteria multiplying in curtain cultures when left under curtain closed or open conditions. If you ever had to experiment with Petri dishes you know exactly what I am talking about here. I am not a chemist and not sure how this product’s ingredients will affect the growth of bacteria in the tube, but that cloud seriously grossed me out.
Over all, I think it is a very cute lip set with a good variety of good products that any woman can find a good use of.
