Hello my Beauty lovers!
Another month just flew by. I know I am a bit late with the post due to current events. Nevertheless, I have got some cool products for ya’ll this time.
I mostly share Favorites, and majority of the time they are very good quality skincare solution that make a good difference. This time around, I have actually tested few skincare products that didn’t hit the mark anywhere close regardless of the good reviews from others. Let’s go down the list.
Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream. I am not sure if it is common to have different skin type on the face and on the rest of the body. My face skin type is combination oily, while the skin on my body is quite dry. About 5 years ago I moved away from using anything fragranced on the body. In my 20’s I owned every single scented product from VS collection. I bet you could relate to that. I feel like most women in my circle were using those products as well. May be it was a trend, may be it was the age bracket, that I wanted to smells like a fruit or a tropical island. Those days are gone. I do not put anything on my body any more that is fragranced. Not counting actual perfume into this.
I Love this body cream. It is quite thick, it takes a bit of time to get absorbed into skin. I like applying it on the skin after the shower when skin pores are open, and the product absorbs a little bit faster. It is very moisturizing. This is pretty basic moisturizer – also lanolin-, paraben-, and fragrance-free formula. It is not a very travel friendly jar, but perfect for the night stand or vanity. This exact cream also comes in different packaging, which I also use mostly for my hands. That packaging is perfect for traveling.
Gel eye patches from Patchology. I mentioned this product in this post in case you missed it. I always have undereye patches at home ready to go. The skin around eyes is very delicate and thin. This is one of the very first areas where the signs of aging will show. In addition if you have any specific concerns like I do ( puffiness, dry skin, fine lines, etc) you may benefit from this type of product. I keep the jar of these gel patches in my daily skincare drawer and use them as needed. I also like to take them for my travel trips to help with dehydration and give life back to the eyes after travels.
Mario Badescu Botanical Facial Gel. I have highlighted this product in my IG storied this past week. I have been using this face wash for about a month now and I very much enjoy it. It is very gentle, and doesn’t dry skin after washing.
Tarte Maracujá Oil. I talked about skin oil before in my prior posts if you are new to my blog. When I used to live in cold and dry NJ state, I would only survive with skin oil pretty much whole entire winters. Even now living in warm state of Florida, I still love to use oil on my face, just not as often as I used to. This oil is fantastic to my opinion. It comes in 2 different sizes. If you are new to oils, I would suggest to try a smaller size, it will still last you a good amount of time- you only need 1-2 drops for the entire face and neck.
Mad Hippie Vitamin A Serum. I have been using this serum in the past month, and I need to say that I really love it. It is very gentle. I only use it at night time and give it few minutes to absorb fully before applying moisturizer. It works to exfoliate the skin, improving the appearance of sun damaged, aging skin. It helps with discoloration as well. I get sun spots very quickly and this product comes in handy. This brand is also vegan and cruelty free.
Peter Thomas Roth Retinol Exfoliating Pads. I steered away from physical exfoliation quite some time ago, I do still have few products that I love and use for my skin. I also stated using retinol products on my skin 2-3 years ago in smaller doses and by now my skin can handle stronger retinols. This is something you need to consider when starting using retinol – start from lover concentration with 1-2 times a week to build up skin strength.
These pads are very saturated however also very gentle on skin. I definitely can see how much brighter and smoother my skin is with using this product. One more tip – when shopping for retinols – the good worthy products are usually more costly, be careful and do your research on lower priced items, a lot of times the concentration is not the same. If you really want to get on the Retinol journey, take time to research the ingredient list.
Bliss In the Honey Mask. I am a huge fan of face masks. I probably have more than I need but I truly enjoy the relaxing “me time” once or twice a week, at the end of a long work day, before going to bed. This mask is jelly like, yellow in color and very much soothing. It feels cooling on skin ( you may even put it in the fridge for few minutes to cool it down for even better effect). I use the application brush to apply it all over the face. Wash it off after 10-15 minutes.
Now let’s get to the products that didn’t hit the mark. I have been using black peel-off masks for a long time to help with detoxifying the skin. I have always been using one brand for over the years and wanted to test different brands with the same category. These masks are on different price ends and unfortunately none of them worked for me. I will explain the reasons.
Garnier SkinActive Black Peel-Off Mask. The mask is overall formulated well, but one part – when if was time to peel it off, it wouldn’t peel off in one piece. Even though I applied a thicker layer of mask for easier peel off, the mask still dried out very thin and it was very hard to remove it. I ended up washing it off the warm water and a wash cloth. This technically took off the whole entire purpose of the peel off mask.
Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask. This mask was fine except it wouldn’t dry forever. The directions say wait for the mask to dry for 15-20 minutes which is very much standard for most masks. This mask took 50 minutes. In all honesty, noone has time for that.
I hope you liked today’s post and found it helpful. Give it a thumb up if you did and share it with someone who you think may like it. Feel free to stay for awhile and explore pages of my blog, and don’t forget to subscribe before you leave.
