Hello my beauty lovers!
Today we continue in the series of Huda Beauty Palette and will chat about The Topaz Obsessions palette.
Can I say OMG right off the bet? Since this past fall I have been loving all the deeper brown and rustic colors. In addiction to that, the monochrome looks took over the world. This palette screams fall to me but also can we appreciate the full flavored tones for a moment.
This palette should literally have my name all over it, haha. These are the tones and colors that I could wear all day every day and wouldn’t get tired.
What’s in it for you ?
This is a 9 pan palette with a 5 matte shades and 4 shimmers. The design of the outer packaging is as beautiful as the inside of the palette. I just want to say this palette is Perfection to my taste.
The palette has no indication of shade names but who’s looking? This is very soft and bendable formula. The colors go on skin like butter. As you can see on from the swatches, the darkest brown color came out patchy. But let’s see how all the mattes will perform on the lids.
The shimmers are seriously to die for! Full on pigment and the softest consistency.
I was tempted to post all the color variation looks possible because I love all these colors so much. At the end, I opted in for creating very easy shimmery and at the same time wearable look.
On the picture below – mattes blended out easily and evenly, as well as simmer colors. It took minimus effort and no time.
The look below was the second one and I decided to test the darkest shade in the palette. It is a common thing for a lot of eyeshadow palettes where the darkest tone doesn’t follow equal consistency and doesn’t perform as well as the rest of the mattes in the palette.
This palette , unfortunately, is not an exception. A much as I am in love with it, the picture doesn’t lie. The shade came out all patchy, very dry, the color would stick and it didn’t blend. Instead I had to press the color with brush into the lid. After that, I kind of gave up. If it takes that much effort to place a color, it is not worth the time. My theory is – makeup should be easy and fun, not some torturous science project trying to figure out how make colors stick.
Even after all the attempts and switching between different brushes and techniques, the color still looks pretty terrible.
I am still keeping the palette and am still going to love it, minus one shade. I can definitely pull it from another palettes or a single.
My final thoughts – is this palette worth it? To me, it is. It you like the colors, you’ll be reaching to this palette all spring, summer and fall.
What are your thoughts on this palette? What other palettes do you own that you love so much but still have to compromise on few colors?
I hope you enjoyed reading this post or found it helpful. Give it a thumb up if you did and share it with someone who you think may also like it. I hope you stay for awhile and subscribe before you leave.
