March 2020 Favorites // Skincare Products

Hello my Beauty lovers!

This is the second part of the Monthly Favorites series that I share with you. Hope you like the first part of it that went out few days ago. If you haven’t, no worries. Read full post here.

Now that we all have time to stay at home and catch up on things and activities that we normally don’t have time for. One of them is self care, that also included taking care of your skin, taking your time morning and before going to bed to give your skin some love.

Today I wanted to share with you my favorite skin care products that I have been using in the past month, some are newly tested and became favorites and some completely missed the mark.

Hits

Lancome Bi-facial Double Action Eye Makeup Remover. I have picked up this remover pretty recently and I have to say it works wonderfully. I add some product on the cotton ball or makeup eraser (whatever you use at home for removing your makeup), and press it gently against the eye letting the mascara and other makeup to melt. Then I gently wipe it off. Everything comes off very easily. This remover is fragrance free and has an oily base, but doesn’t leave any greasy residue. One more detail that I personally like – the small opening that lets the liquid out. This packaging is very nice for not contaminating the rest of the liquid inside of the bottle.

COSRX Snail Serum. Don’t let the name gross you out. Yes, this serum is 96% snail mucin. It is a light clear liquid formula. It states to help with skin elasticity, retain moisture barrier and repair skin damage. I have used it after using chemical exfoliation at night time, and in the morning my skin tone looked even, skin was well moisturized and plump. I like it. As little as you need to use at a time, this product is well worth its price and will last for a long time. I am very interested to try other products from this brand.

Mad Hippie Vitamin C Serum. I am new to this brand. I have purchased several skin care items from it and am still trying the other ones to share with you later. But this Vitamin C serum I have been using for about a month now, and I like it. The brand itself is interesting – their products are vegan, cruelty free, and fragrance free – all the things that I love for skin care products. This serum has bunch of good added ingredients to it like feriluc acid that helps vitamin C be a little more stable, hyaluronic acid, vitamin E and few others. It is not irritating on skin and absorbs quickly.

Mario Badescu Botanical Facial Gel. This is the newly tested brand for me. I haven’t tried too many products from it. I did mention another face wash in January 2020 Favorites. This face wash is pretty gentle and I like using it both in the morning and at night. There are few things that I am not loving so much. First, it does have a light fragrance, it is very light however it is not something that I like in my skin care but it is a face wash after all and doesn’t stay on skin too long. Second – the opening of the container is like a little nozzle that lifts up front the cap when you want to use it, and it is kind if difficult to squeeze out. I have to shake the bottle upside down every single time. It’s bit of annoying. The products itself is fine, but I most probably won’t be repurchasing this one again.

Misses

Boscia Luminizing Black Charcoal Mask – I have been using peel – off masks for all my life and that’s what I find works for my skin to clear out my visible pores. I have tried 1001 different peel -off masks and have a lot to compare to.

This product is not good, the least to say. I couldnt understand one thing – how the reviews for it so amazing across the board, from Ulta to Sephora to Amazon. I have no idea. I actually thought it was just that one tube and returned it back to store and received another one. That new one did exactly the same thing.

So, let me tell you what it was that I didn’t like that much. That mask didn’t dry for 40 minutes! That’s first. Who has that kind of time and even want to sit around and wait for the mask to dry. Not me.

The second – when I finally got to peel off the mask, it came off like those rubber masks that are meant for hydrating. My final verdict – it is not effective. In addition to all the above, it is also very fragranced. No, thanks.

Formula 10.0.6. Bare Face Skin- Hydrating Cleansing Oil – ok, I saved the worst for last. Again, don’t let good online reviews mislead you. This product leaves so much greasy residue that I needed double wash my face after it with my regular cleanser. It felt like I dumped cooking oil on my skin. So gross. Even though this products is affordable, I still consider it a waste of money if the product is garbage.

  1. I get a lot of freckles when sun hits my face and since using Vit. C serum noticed a good change, how much brighter my skin became. As far as nail serum, it is true that it is very plebe product on US market, but I feel like it works better than hyaluronic acid.

  2. I’ve been using a Vitamin C serum for a little while now and I love it!!! I’ve been hearing about snail serums more often lately and I definitely need to check them out.
