Hello my beauty lovers!
I picked up these beauties during this holiday season and I am a little bit obsessed with the packaging and of course with the palettes themselves. Seriously, how cute is this little glitter two-layer box? Crafty people can definitely appreciate.

The Glitter Box
What’s In It For You?
The palettes launched awhile back and not new to most. To me the velvet packaging is so lux and nice to the touch. Each palette has a mirror and a magnetic closure. The satin black ribbon tag helps to open the palette without effort.
Looking at the colors of both palettes, one can definitely see that they are very neutral. The Modern Renaissance palette has a pop of colors and if you take a closer look, you may notice that there are 3 colors that are repeated ( Cyprus Umber, Burnt Orange and Tempera).
I will just jump ahead and tell you right away that I like ABH eye shadow formula. Among the velvet boxed eyeshadow palettes, the formula is very consistent. It is soft and creamy for the mattes and the shimmer shades are so sultry.
On the swatches you may notice that the shade Mulberry is a bit patchy. On the eye it blended pretty smoothly.
If you are looking for a one neutral palette look no further. You will be able to do so many different eye looks from day neutral basics, to smoky eyes, to night out glam, to wedding day. It is defintely worth the investment.
This palette offers variety of cool and warm neutrals from lighter to deeper shades which will let you create a variety of looks from day to night. In addition to that, there is a pop pf color. The quality of shadows is very consistent throughout the palette.
I played with the Soft Glam palette first and wanted to create 2 looks with the same concept but different color tones.
For this first look I used cool tones and gold shimmer for accent color. Read below for exact color choices. All colors blended beautifully without effort.
For the second look, I used warm tones. There wasn’t that much shimmery payoff on the photos, but it definitely looks brighter in person. It is very subtle glam look. I was pleased how it turned out. I also didn’t have any issues blending darker matte shades. Score.
I don’t think I really need to talk much about usability of both of these palettes. If you like neutrals, these two palettes will take you all places you ever wanted – from wearable simple day / work looks, to glam shimmer, to smoky eyes. The quality is beautiful. The pigment is soft, hence the ease of blending and applying. There is a minor shimmer fall out ( I’d recommend doing the eye makeup first before the rest of your face if you want to do shimmer shades). I used primer for this application to see the intensity at first. However, the colors are so well pigmented they show up well even of a simple base. Final Verdict – if you are looking for the quality higher end palette that will meed all your neutral loving makeup needs, any of these 2 palettes is a good choice.
